January 2024 - Depletion

We all experience situations where our strength is depleted.

So it's not if depletion comes - it's when. And when depletion hits, we must be ready for it because depletion has a ripple effect.

When we are depleted, obstacles before us can seem more difficult than they actually are – small things can feel like really big things. Because, at the end of the day, depletion is really just soul fatigue.

Soul fatigue can look like many things, but it's most commonly seen as your mind just being tired. Tired of searching for resolve, tired of making decisions, and tired of problem-solving.

That's why replenishment disciplines are so important. We must have a plan for what we will do to fill our cup when we are empty.

In my own healing journey, I had to learn how important a plan is. I used to believe I could just sustain it and that pushing through would get me to the other side.

But that only led to the development of unhealthy cycles and patterns to cope with being depleted. These were temporary fixes over a depletion problem that I had no good plan to resolve.

This is where the ripple effect comes into play. Depletion impacts our performance, our production, and, most importantly, our relationships.

It was only when I started to gain self-awareness that I could see how depleted I was. Then, when I started getting heart connected, I was able to hear what I truly needed to get refilled.

So we must pay attention to our soul and, if it's feeling depleted, give it some care with our planned replenishment disciplines - because we cannot be our best when we are not at our best!
